Traits
Scales (Legendary)
Scales, or Scale Plating, are among the oldest known mutations, first documented in the Star Nest. Perception of the trait varies dramatically between Nests. In the Star Nest, scales are revered for their association with the Queen Mother and several of her predecessors, making them a symbol of beauty, lineage, and divine favour. In the Marsh Nest, however, the trait bears an unsettling resemblance to a lethal affliction of the Old Days believed to have claimed generations of their queens, and is often regarded with fear or superstition.
Scales may range from a handful of small plates to extensive armour-like coverage, between 15-90% of the body may be covered.
Albinism (Legendary)
Caeli with albinism often suffer from severely impaired eyesight and a myriad of associated health complications. As with Scale Plating, perceptions of albinism vary greatly between Nests. In some, particularly where pale coloration carries cultural or historical significance, it is considered striking or even beautiful. In others, it is viewed as an undesirable mutation and may be associated with superstition, weakness, or ill fortune.
Glowing Freckles (Legendary)
Both the Bioluminescent and Glowing Freckles Mutations originate from deep within the ancient Starrian bloodlines. It harks back to an era where Starrians survived in the deep beneath the Dravisdoran surface in vast, lightless caverns. Unlike Scales or Albinism, these two are admired across the nests. Their connection to ancient Starrian ancestry has given them an air of rarity and prestige, with many considering them symbols of nobility, heritage, and mystery.
